Ken Steinberg, Senior/Founding Partner
Ken, founder and senior partner at CIP, is a tri-decade tech-executive turned serial entrepreneur, investor and mentor. His formative years were spent launching new business units and products for many Public and Private corporations including the National Science Foundation, Hitachi, Hughes, Softbank, and GE. Having run several profitable initiatives, generating over $250M in market cap, he took this knowledge of technology, business, and finance out of the Fortune 500 arena and into new markets.
After founding Savant Protection on his cyber-security patents (acquired by Digital Guardian), Ken launched Cambridge Research and Development, a leading. independent think tank that has generated solutions in medtech, healthcare informatics, robotics, public safety for both the DOD and private companies.
Mr. Steinberg, having founded CIP based on his experience as an investor and founding director of Northeast Angels, also spends his time as a Mentor at Harvard I-Labs and running day-to-day operations of ClinicalBid and Cambridge R&D.
Dave Hall, Senior Partner
Dave Hall is a 30+ year entrepreneur with expertise in enterprise sales, business development, start-up marketing, and go-to-market Strategy. He’s the former CEO and Co-Founder of Kona DataSearch, built to enhance the productivity of the search experience in Salesforce. Kona worked with multiple Fortune 500 companies including AstraZeneca, Caterpillar, United Healthcare, and Western Union.
A native of the Worcester, MA area, Dave’s career started as a Mechanical Engineer out of the University of New Hampshire, working for Teradyne Connections in Nashua, NH. With 20 years running his own business development firm, Dave worked with multiple verticals including Industrial, Medical Device, Electronics, Robotics, Defense and Med-Tech accounts. Dave has worked at several high-tech firms including Fujitsu Consulting, Attivio and Elevated Resources.
Dave is passionate about great coffee, golf and tennis as he enjoys the competitive aspect of all sports. Dave has taken his passion for golf and has been the current tournament director of the annual FRAXA (Fragile X) Charity Golf Tournament since 1990.
Andrew Haller, Senior Partner
Andrew is a young, dynamic, creative, entrepreneur based in Toronto, ON. Andrew’s passion is to accelerate the translation of science into improved patient outcomes. He is a connector, with deep ties into Canada’s emerging innovation ecosystem. His startup, Phoenox, uses AI to design and discover oncology drugs which attack cancer stem cell metabolism. He is Ontario’s clinical trial broker, is a consultant, and teaches entrepreneurism and drug development at the University of Toronto.
Previously, Andrew was a post-doc at Princess Margaret Cancer Center, where he developed a keen eye for scientific diligence. Afterwards, Andrew developed marketing, business development, and investment attraction talents at TOHealth where he helped to found Canada’s largest life science investment conference, Health Innovation Week. Andrew grew up in Detroit, MI and received undergraduate degrees from Michigan State University, a graduate degree from Wayne State University. He received a PhD from Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Molecular Pharmacology and Cancer Therapeutics. He is an avid runner, triathlete, and world traveller.
